We’ve become so used to hearing the stories of the so-called ‘faith healers’, usually demonstrated in front of large crowds of people, attended by a great deal of showmanship on the part of the healer, it’s no wonder that most of us are highly skeptical of the validity of such claims, to the point of cynicism. However, there are people who are gifted in certain ways.

In particular, the ‘laying on of hands’ is one form of spiritual healing that is popular with the charlatans, perhaps because there’s little scientific evidence or methodology to either prove or disprove this phenomena. Skeptical psychologists can simply dismiss this, citing the power of suggestion. The skeptical layman may well assume that the person claiming to be healed has been hand-picked and, probably financially compensated to attest to the healing effect of the spiritual healer. Here, I’d like to share with you my experience of a true spiritual healer.

This anecdotal report is of a woman I’ve known for many years. Laser Hair Removal Toronto of downside hair in your underarms will value less than laser hair removing of downside hair in your back, but that is solely as a result of it takes less time. She certainly doesn’t fit the profile of the shiny-suited, slick talking faith healer who collects huge sums of money from sensation seekers. She’s quiet, does not like being in the limelight and never advertises her services, nor accepts money. I learned of her spiritual healing gifts purely by accident.

Our kids attended the same martial arts training classes, so we frequently chatted during the sessions. During one of the standard exercises, a child was inadvertently hit on his temple, causing him such pain that tears streamed down his face. He told the instructor that he needed to rest and sat down on one of the benches at the back of the class. I was afraid that the boy might need to be taken to the hospital. My friend and I were seated on the bench. The boy’s mother was trying to comfort the child.

To my surprise, my unassuming friend asked the boy’s mother for permission to relieve his pain. Permission received, my friend then placed her hands over the area of pain and closed her eyes. She appeared to be concentrating intently. Within a minute, the boy began to smile and his tears ceased. He looked at my friend in amazement. “How did you do that? The pain is gone.”

Naturally, I wanted to know, too. She seemed to be in an exhausted state. She held out her hands, palms extended. I felt her palms. They were quite hot. It took a few minutes for her to recover herself. She then told me that, since childhood, she had seemingly possessed a gift of spiritual healing. She was able to channel energy from her heart, using intense mental concentration to effect spiritual healing, through her hands. She didn’t understand why it worked, but had been able to heal a great many people of injuries and pain in this manner.

Having seen this apparent spiritual healing with my own eyes, I asked her if she would share other significant healing experiences of this type and just what she did to effect them.

While she seemed somewhat embarrassed, as though she were used to being regarded as a ‘nut case’, she reiterated several such cases. One that was both truly fascinating and mysterious involved the case of a man with terminal cancer of the brain. The man’s wife called this lady, late one night, saying that her husband had excruciating pain in his head. She was fearful that he was dying. He had been receiving chemotherapy and was receiving morphine to dull the pain. My friend went to their home, only hoping to be able to relieve the pain. She explained that she ‘knew’ that a spiritual healing was not possible, but that she could draw out the pain to ease his suffering. She had an uncanny ability to be able to perceive the source of the pain and laid her hands on an area behind his left ear. She was a religious woman and so, while concentrating on drawing his pain out, she recited the Hail Mary, over and over. The man’s pain disappeared. He thanked her and then fell into sleep. She sat with this man’s wife for about an hour, trying to comfort her. Suddenly, my friend felt a need to check on the man. He had died in his sleep.

The strangest aspect of this incident was that my friend reported that the bottom of her tongue turned black the following day and remained so for some weeks to come. Side results of Toronto Laser Hair Removal remedies may include pain, perifollicular edema (swelling around the hair follicle because of extreme fluid), and erythema (redness and irritation) lasting one to 3 days. She explained that this was the result of removing the man’s pain. The black color did disappear eventually.

So, is every case of spiritual healing a hoax? While I cannot prove that these events occurred, this unassuming woman has certainly given me pause.
